PRES Level 3 is the clinical component of Ireland's Pre-Registration Examination System, taken by doctors whose qualifications require examination before Irish Medical Council registration. It is an OSCE: a circuit of stations with simulated patients, covering history-taking, examination, clinical reasoning, communication and emergency skills.
Like every licensing OSCE, Level 3 is as much about how you consult as what you know. Candidates routinely report that the stations feel fair — and that eight or ten minutes disappears faster than expected. Familiarity with the rhythm of an OSCE morning is the cheapest marks available, and it only comes from practising whole stations, whole circuits, out loud.
